    Obituary for Charles Ashby "Bo" Unroe Charles Ashby "Bo" Unroe
    Alleghany Public Schools Retiree Dies At Age 60

    Charles Ashby "Bo" Unroe, age 60, of 3219 Douthat Road, Clifton Forge died Friday, September 25, 2009 at the Golden Living Center, Clifton Forge.

    He was born September 28, 1948 in Clifton Forge, VA.

    He was a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, The Sharon Volunteer Fire Department, and was an employee of the Alleghany Public Schools with over 20 years of service, retiring as a custodian at Sharon Elementary School.

    In addition to his father, Charles Jackson Unroe, he was preceded in death by two sons, Richard Lee Unroe, James Allen Unroe, and his buddy and companion, Sam.

    He is survived by his devoted wife of 39 years, Joyce Knick Unroe, mother Hazel Dawe Unroe, a son, Dale Unroe and his wife, Kim, of Clifton Forge; four sisters, Patsy Hyler and her husband, John of Low Moor, Vera Unroe of Valley Ridge, Kay Roberts and her, husband Gerald, Cindy Reid and her husband Quintin, all of Clifton Forge; a granddaughter, Hannah Unroe of Clifton Forge, and a special friend and brother-in-law, Ronnie Knick and his wife, Debbie of Mandeville, LA.

    Bo is also survived by his beloved Sharon Elementary School family.

    A funeral service will be conducted on Monday at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with the Rev. Bill Dillon and Rev. Gene Peters officiating. Interment will follow in the Central Advent Christian Cemetery, Clifton Forge. Active Pallbearers will be Harold Hyler, Travis Hyler, Keith Hyler, Mike Snook, Terry Fix, and Wayne Hannah. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home, and at other times at the residence of Patsy and John Hyler 440 Lipsey Lane, Low Moor, VA.

    Arrangements are being handled by the Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, Virginia.
