    Obituary for Ida Anne Alderman Garrett Ida Anne Alderman Garrett
    West Virginia Native Was Retired Coca Cola Office Manager

    Ida Anne Alderman Garrett, 86, formerly of Scott Hill and Grace Avenue in Clifton Forge, died Friday evening, September 25, 2009 at The Woodlands Nursing Home in Clifton Forge.

    She was born in Spruce, West Virginia on January 1, 1923, a daughter of the late Andrew Hamilton and Annie Kern Alderman.

    She was a retired office manager with Coca Cola Bottling and later worked in the office of Clifton Forge High School.

    She is a member of the Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church and the Sara Linn Bible Class of the church. S

    he was active for many years in the Twilight Garden Club and was a Life member of Virginia Federation of Garden Clubs. Ida was a member of the Clifton Forge Women's Club.

    She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Miller "T-Boy" Garrett in July of 2002. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Virginia Cerotsky and Frances A. Whitmer, and by a brother Charles Alderman.

    She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and Marty Bush of Duluth, Georgia; a grandson, Jonathan Bush of Columbus, Ohio; three sisters, Shelby Whitson of Atlanta, Malinda Cole of Marietta, Ohio and Leah Fuller of Lancaster, California; two brothers, Carlos Alderman of Ronceverte, and Ellis Alderman and wife, Pat of Altoona, Pennsylvania; brother-in-law, Charles Whitmer of Clifton Forge; special aunt, Candis Burchette of Clifton Forge; a number of nieces and nephews.

    A funeral service will be conducted Monday at 11:00 a.m. from the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home with the Rev. Paul Brokaw officiating. Interment will be made in Alleghany Memorial Park, Low Moor. The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Nicely Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, Alleghany Highlands Division, c/o Karen Buzzard, 807 McCormick Blvd. Clifton Forge, Virginia 24422 or to the Clifton Forge Presbyterian Church, P.O.
