Lillian Traynor Reid, 84, of Hurt, passed away on Sunday, October 4, 2009 at her residence.
Born May 11, 1925 in Covington, VA, she was a daughter of the late John Harvey Traynor and Mary Etta Smith Traynor.
She was a retired employee with the former Piedmont Manufacturing in Altavista and a former employee of the Industrial Rayon Corporation in Covington.
Surviving are two sons, Charles Preston Reid and wife, Janet of Clifton Forge and William Burton Reid and wife, Linda of Powhatan; a daughter, Brenda Reid Clay and husband, Sammy of Hurt; seven grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson.
Also surviving are good friends and neighbors, Phyllis and Don Jacobs and Brian Sisk.
She was preceded in death by five brothers, three sisters and two grandsons, Chuck Reid and Phillip Reid.
A memorial service was conducted at 11:00 a.m. Thursday at Finch & Finch Chapel, Altavista, by Rev. David Bayse. A graveside memorial service followed on Thursday at the Central Advent Christian Church Cemetery, Clifton Forge, with Rev. Doug Moore officiating.
Finch & Finch, Inc. Funeral and Cremation Service, Altavista handled the out-of-town arrangements.
