Walter Preston Garrett, 85, formerly of Buena Vista, passed away in Oakhurst, California on October 12, 2009.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Kaye; his mother, Dolly Lieurance; his father, Walter Hamilton Garrett; and a half-brother, Wayne Garrett.

He is survived by his children: Kelly Ashlock and her husband, Wayne; Sharon Garrett; Hannah Powell and her husband, Jay; and Mike Garrett and his wife, Grace; as well as eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren. He is also survived by two half-sisters, Zeanette Burch of Buena Vista and Jane Selleck of Goodyear, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews in the local area.

Memorial services will be held on November 14, 2009 in Coarsgold, California.
