    Obituary for Robert Newton (Bob) Jordan Robert Newton (Bob) Jordan
    Was Lab Technician For AET, Quartet Bass Singer

    Robert Newton (Bob) Jordan, age 69, of 1404 Wilmont St, Clifton Forge, passed Sunday, November 1, 2009 at the home of his daughter on 700 Summit Drive, Covington.

    Born May 22, 1940 in Staunton, Virginia, Bob was a son of the late Dallas and Ethel Burgandine Jordan.

    After graduating from Clifton Forge High School , he served in the United States Navy.

    He was a laboratory technician for AET of Covington and a was member of the Clifton Forge Baptist Church.

    He was a former bass singer for the Cardinal State Quartet and was well-known for his sense of humor.

    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Allene Pearson Jordan in 1994, and a brother, Dallas Jordan, Jr.

    He is survived by a daughter, Rommi Jordan Lowe and husband, Jeff of Covington; a son, Rhett Layne Schmaeman and wife, Cheryl of Nashville, TN; a sister, Ann Jordan Hogan and husband, Ryland of Fishersville; and four grandchildren: Caleb Lowe, Kara Lowe, Heather Towe, and Zackary Stone.

    A funeral service was held on Wednesday at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge with Reverend W. Pembroke Hall officiating. Interment followed in Mountain View Cemetery, Clifton Forge. The family received friends Tuesday evening at Nicely Funeral Home, and other times at the residence of Rommi and Jeff Lowe, 700 Summit Drive, Covington. The family suggests memorial tributes take the form of contributions to Mountain Regional Hospice Volunteers, PO Box 637, Clifton Forge, VA 24422.

    The Nicely Funeral Home, Clifton Forge, Virginia, handled the arrangements.
