Betty Carol Smith Higgins, 48, of Lexington, died Monday, November 16, 2009 in Augusta Health Center.

Born December 14, 1960 in Rockbridge County, she was a daughter of Ruth Hostetter Smith and the late Charles Lee Smith.

Surviving are her husband, Anthony "Bo" Higgins; three sons, Tracy Lee Smith of Salem, Shawn Anthony Smith and Dustin Wayne Higgins, both of Lexington; one brother, Charles Lee Smith, Jr., of Lexington; three sisters, Linda Smith Abbott of Lexington, Tamera Smith Conner of Raphine and Pamela Smith Higgins of Buena Vista; close friend, Michael Hostetter of Lexington.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, November 19, 2009 at Ebenezer ARP Cemetery with Rev. William M. Thomas officiating. There will be no visitation at the funeral home.
