Lexington Presbyterian Church To Host Mission Dinner Aids Epedemic In Africa Subject Of Presentations |
| Lexington Presbyterian Church will host a mission dinner Thursday, October 23 in the Fellowship Hall of the church. The focus of the dinner will be the ministry to children orphaned by the aids epidemic in Africa. There will be speakers from two separate foundations.
Charles Gwengwe, Executive Director of Ministry of Hope from Malawi will be the first speaker and Vivian Mink; the area director of the Rafiki Foundation will be the second speaker. Both of these organizations are Christian missions reaching out to the destitute of Africa.
The focus of Ministry of Hope is on developing communities that offer education, improved agricultural techniques and income-generating projects.
Rafiki, which has established training villages in ten African counties since 1987, is focused on saving and training orphans who can become responsible godly leaders in their own countries.
The meal, which is potluck, will begin at 5:45 p.m. with the program starting at 6:30. Members of the community are the invited guests of the church congregation. Childcare is provided. For more information call 463-3873 days, 464-3124 evenings.
