Local Technicians Obtain Automotive Certifications   Recently several area automotive technicians’ earned certifications for their automotive knowledge and experience. Brett Osborne, Blue Ridge Auto Center, Buena Vista was certified in: Advance Engine Performance, Service Consultant, Exhaust Systems, and Parts Specialist, through the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). Rob Austin, Buena Vista Express Lube, and Mike Sienda, owner of both shops, were qualified on the Motorist Assurance Program (MAP) Uniform Inspection and Communications Standards. Sienda was also certified as a Custom Wheel and Tire Specialist from the Specialty Equipment Marketing Association (SEMA), as well as in Exhaust Systems and Undercar Specialist from ASE. ASE is non-profit independent organization dedicated to improving the quality of service and repair through voluntary certification tests which measure a service professionals’ knowledge of diagnostic and repair skills for competent job performance. The MAP is national organization dedicated to strengthening the relationship between motorists and the automotive service repair industry through education and creation of industry standards. SEMA is the leading organization that represents the automotive parts and accessories industry.
