| The historic Campbell/Lyle Mill, owned by the bride’s parents on the banks of Mill Creek at Timber Ridge, was the setting Saturday, September 27, 2008, for the outdoor wedding of Macon Blair Williams, of Richmond, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Preston Mackey Williams of Lexington, and Mark Conrad Worsley, also of Richmond, son of Mrs. Shirley Worsley of Raleigh, N.C., and Ontario, Canada, and the late Peter Worsley. The Rev. Benjamin Mewald of Roanoke officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride, who wore a gown of white satin with beaded trim, was escorted by her father and attended by a lifelong friend, Mrs. Sarah Jane Bradley Douglas of Richmond, formerly of Lexington, who served as matron of honor. David Driscoll of New York City, friend of the groom, was best man, with wedding music provided by the Winchester string trio, Strings and Serenade. Special music, “By Your Side,” composed by the bride’s brother, Maury Lyle Williams of Lexington, was performed by him during the ceremony. A reception followed on the grounds, with music for dancing that evening.
Macon is the granddaughter of Mrs. Julia Smith Martin of Lexington, the late Frank Martin of Sea Girt, N.J., and the late Mr. and Mrs. William Twyman Williams, III, of Lexington.
She attended Virginia Intermont College and is employed by the Bull and Bear Club, Richmond.
Mark, grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Jack Worsley of London, Ontario, Canada, is a graduate of Davenport University in Michigan and of Le Cordon Bleu in Ottawa, Canada. He is a former Hotel Roanoke chef and was executive chef at the DoubleTree Hotel in South Beach, Fla., before joining the staff of Richmond’s Omni Hotel. | | | | | |
