Katherine Blair Huffman And Cassidy Scott Vreeland Wed

Katherine Blair Huffman, daughter of Mrs. Loretta Thompson and Mr. Samuel Huffman, both of Natural Bridge, and Cassidy Scott Vreeland, son of Ms. Patti Vreeland of New Jersey and Dr. Kurt Vreeland of New Hampshire, were joined in marriage Sept. 27, 2008, at Falling Spring Presbyterian Church. Dr. Brian Weger and Rev. Glenn Coleman officiated the ceremony.
The bride wore an ivory satin gown and carried a hand-tied bouquet of white calla lilies and roses and green hypericum berries.
The bride’s sister, Leigh Ann McCoy of Natural Bridge, was matron of honor. Serena Pence of Bridgewater; Jan Meadowcroft of Reading, Pa.; Hana DiPalma of Taos, N.M.; Nichole Suever of Virginia Beach, Va.; and Heather Pope of Alexandria, Va., were bridesmaids. Emma Burch of Midlothian, Va., cousin of the bride, was junior bridesmaid. They wore eggplant gowns and carried bouquets in shades of orange and red.
The bridegroom’s brother, Dr. Court Vreeland of White River Junction, Vt., was best man. Groomsmen included Bret Shea and Lee Hameroff, both of Falls Church, Va.; Doug Walczak of Mt. Laurel, N.J.; Spencer Moore of Boston, Mass.; and stepbrother of the groom, Zach Brandau of Enosburg Falls, Vt. John McCoy of Natural Bridge, the bride’s brother-in law, and Rob Baier and Steve Bertolet, both of Mt. Laurel, N.J., were ushers. Dr. Carrie Vreeland of White River Junction, Vt., the bridegroom’s sister-in-law, and Maggie Vreeland of Los Angeles, Calif., the bridegroom’s half-sister, were attendants. Close friend of the bride and bridegroom, Yumi Belanga of Alexandria, Va., directed the wedding.
Josh Harvey provided ceremony music. A reception was held at Moody Hall, Virginia Military Institute. Hosts for the reception were the bride’s parents.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Radford University. She is Senior Editor of Military Officer magazine for the Military Officers Association of America in Alexandria, Va.
The bridegroom graduated from Drew University in 2003 and currently is earning his master’s degree at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He also is employed by the Military Officers Association of America as Assistant Director of Government Relations.
The couple honeymooned in Playa del Carmen, Mexico, and are living in Arlington, Va.
