Allens Celebrate 50 Years Of Marriage

Wilmer and Joyce Allen of Vesuvius celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Saturday, April 25th with a surprise celebration at the Fairfield Fire House. Familiy, friends, and church members were in attendance.
The couple was married April 23, 1959 in Swain County, North Carolina by the Reverend C. L. Leonard. They have two daughters, Sheila Brown of Staunton and Melinda Waybright of Fishersville; and five grandchildren, Shannon, Clarissa, Ashley, Brandon, and Taylor.
Wilmer is the son of the late Edward and Carlene Allen of Montebello. Joyce is the daughter of the late Willhall and Ettie Fitgerald of Montebello.
Wilmer is retired from Burlington Industries in Glasgow with 37 years of service. Both are members of Irish Creek Pentecostal Holiness Church. | | | | | |
