 | ALL-VIRGINIA ACADEMIC TEAM – Savana Yacoub (right) of Clifton Forge, a recent graduate of Dabney S. Lancaster Community College and a member of DSLCC’s Alpha Eta Omicron Chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, a national honorary society, was recently selected as a member of the All-Virginia Academic Team. Virginia is one of the 38 states participating in the State Academic Teams project introduced in 1994 as a way to provide scholastic recognition to Phi Theta Kappa members while promoting excellence at two-year colleges. Yacoub was nominated to the national All-USA Academic Team, and, as a nominee of the All-USA Team, she is automatically named to the All-Virginia Academic Team. All-State Team members receive special recognition at these ceremonies including medallions and certificates. Congratulating Yacoub is DSLCC President Dr. Richard Teaff.
