4th Annual Magic In The Mountains Set In Clifton Forge, June 19-21

| The fourth annual Magic In The Mountains Festival will be held June 19-21 in Clifton Forge by Clifton Forge Main Street Inc. Opening ceremonies are planned at noon on Friday, June 19 at the VFW Park in downtown with many dignitaries invited.
The festival will feature over fifty juried arts & crafts vendors as well as food vendors. Saturday events include a wine tasting with three vineyards participating – Lexington Valley Vineyards, Virginia Mountain Vineyards and Blue Ridge Vineyards. The wine tasting will be held behind the Elks Lodge and Jack Mason’s Tavern.
The Jackson River Paddle will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday for individuals as well as families. To participate in one of the four categories please contact Rider’s Up Outfitters at 862-6777 or download a registration form at www.magicinthemountains.org.
There is something for everyone at the festival including a Small Quit Show to be held at the Clifton Forge Public Library ; an Antique Tractor Show on the Clifton Forge Town Hall parking lot; Beard & Moustache Contest; Kidz Children’s Zone with free activities; Kidz Talent Showcase; art show at the Alleghany Highlands Arts & Crafts Center and events at the C & O Heritage Center. Children’s Canine Capers – a dog show for children and their dogs – will be held on the Sona Bank Plaza at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 21.
Free all day outdoor entertainment will be held on Sona Bank Plaza beginning at 9 a.m. until 6 p.m. Saturday. Entertainment includes a Kids Talent Showcase at 9 a.m., Tri County Cloggers at 10 a.m., Blues Jam at 10:30 a.m., Garlynda’s Fancy Feet at 11:30 a.m.; Patrick O’Flaherty & Mary Daily at 1 p.m.; Rebels of Rhythm at 2 p.m.; Beard & Moustache Contest at 2:30 p.m.; Ashley McClung at 4 p.m. and Midlife Crisis at 4:30 p.m.
Three events are at the Masonic Theater. On Friday, June 19 the seventeen piece West Virginia Jazz Orchestra will feature big band and jazz. The show starts at 8 p.m. and is being underwritten by Penny’s Diner and Oak Tree Inn, Low Moor. On Saturday, June 20 Dr. David Crandall and The Ramp Supper Band as well as Against The Grain will present a home-grown bluegrass show at 8 p.m. The blue grass show is being underwritten by Alleghany Regional Hospital. Tickets for both shows are available in advance as well as at the door for $7 for children under 12 and seniors and $10 for adults. Tickets outlets are Owens Pharmacy, Rider’s Up Outfitters and Clifton Forge Main Street in Clifton Forge. Tickets are also available at The Shoe Box & Sports Center in Covington.
A free ventriloquist show with Dale Smith & Friends will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, June 21 in the Masonic Theater. This show is free to the public and being underwritten by Owens Pharmacy.
