The City of Lexington has some stuff they want to get rid of and that you might like to have. To expedite the City of Lexington Surplus And Salvage Property Sale, the City will be selling its surplus and salvaged equipment on a government online auction site www.GovDeals.com. The website is only available to government agencies to sell items and is set up similar to EBay. Those wishing to bid will need to register and create an account.
According to Roger Clark, once you get on the website, click on the "new Bidders Register FREE" link in the top right hand corner of the screen. Once you have registered, you will be able to bid on any item listed on the Gov Deals website as well as pay for any items that your are successful in having the winning bid.
Clark explains that the City also will be listing the items for sale on the City's website at www.ci.lexington.va.us/. The items will be available from August 17, 2009 until September 17, 2009.
• VEHICLES - 1993 Plymouth Sundance, 1996 Shamrock Sewer Jet, 1990 GMC Topkick Dump truck, 2003 Ford Crown Victoria, 1979 Ford Pickup with Utility Bed, Animal Cage Unit
• MISC - hubcaps, car cage, police bike, outdoor cooking set/propane tank (new), paper shredders, computer, monitors, various cables, HP printers, Epson printers, fax machines.
All interested parties are encouraged to view the items prior to placing a bid!
