Letter: Mumma's Character Sets The Standard

Dear Editor, Rockbridge Weekly:

As a Rockbridge Bath's resident for over 22 years, I am proud to endorse Woody Mumma's candidacy for the County Board of Supervisors as a representative for the Walker's Creek District.

I have known Woody for at least eight years as we attend the same church.

On a personal level, I have always known him to be attentive to the needs and concerns of those individuals around him, and in addition, he exhibits wonderful leadership skills in the projects he oversees.

As a candidate, Woody will encompass all of the great qualities one wishes to see in a district representative.

He is knowledgeable and informed. He stands firm when necessary, yet he is open-minded and flexible as he strives to represent the majority of his constituents for the "greater good."

If all individuals seeking office maintained the kind of integrity and honesty displayed by Woody Mumma, our political system would not be in a constant state of moral questionability as it always seems to be. Perhaps one of Wood's greatest attributes is that he has no "personal agenda"; his sole purpose is to serve the people in the Walker's Creek District to the best of his ability.

All in all, Woody Mumma sets the standard for ideal qualities voters desire in a candidate. I consider it an honor to vote for Woody Mumma on November 3, 2009.
