Local Accident Report for 10_14_2009   On October 8, 2009 at 10:54 p.m. a 1998 Dodge Ram 1500 pickup operated by Francis Steven Hunt of 2365 Hobbs Reesor Road, Vine Grove, Kentucky, was traveling south on Rte. 501 (Magnolia Ave.) when he sideswiped a parked, 1991 Toyota pickup owned by Meredith Lee Faris of 1400 Spruce Ave. D-11, Buena Vista. The Toyota was parked near 503 Magnolia Ave. The Dodge continued going south, left the roadway, onto a nearby sidewalk and then struck two mailboxes (one owned by Leo Coleman and another owned by Sunny Ryman, both worth $100 each). The truck then hit an embankment which finally stopped it. Hunt wasn’t injured, but his vehicle sustained about $5,000 in damage and the Toyota had about $2,000 as well. Hunt’s vehicle was towed away and he was arrested on several charges, including possession or transporting a firearm by a convicted felon, refusal of a breath test, driving under the influence (2nd in 5 years), and no valid operator’s license. His Buena Vista address was listed as 1751 Maple Ave. Officer D. L. Ramsey handled the investigation for the Buena Vista Police Department. * * *
