The Lexington Croquet Society held their 4th annual Super Bowl event on Sunday, October 18th. The winning team, pictured here, was (l-r) Norm Rollenhagen, Pam Ricks and Jerry Plante. The award for the other team member, Judy Halseth, was given posthumously. The competition began in May and continued through September with the playoffs and Super Bowl played in October.

The game is a refined version of the popular “backyard” croquet and follows a strict set of rules for play. Since this is a team effort there is considerable strategy involved in each match that lasts for 45 minutes. The team with the most wickets within that time period is declared the winner. Each team consists of four players with any three playing at one time. The society has six teams or 24 players plus one alternate for 25 total players.
