Military Historian to Discuss World War I Battle

 
LEXINGTON, Va. (Oct. 30, 2009) – Michael S. Neiberg, director of the Center for the Study of War and Society at the University of Southern Mississippi, will present a lecture titled “Leadership and Alliance Warfare: The American Experience on the Marne.” It will take place Nov. 18 from 8-9 p.m. in the Turman Room of the Preston Library.

A Guggenheim Fellow and former professor of history at the United States Air Force Academy, Neiberg is the author of many books, including Fighting the Great War: A Global History and The Second Battle of the Marne. Among his many awards, the History News Network named him as “Top Young Historian” for 2008.

Neiberg’s talk is free and open to the public.
