Temporary Closing of Portion of Woods Creek Trail   LEXINGTON, Va., Nov. 11, 2009 – The portion of Woods Creek Trail from Jordan’s Point to the property line between Washington and Lee University and Virginia Military Institute will be closed Nov. 26-28. A deer management effort during this period will entail closing the trail for safety reasons. This management plan was approved by the Lexington City Council and is being conducting in accordance with regulations of the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries. The section of the trail on VMI property will be closed all day for each of the three days of the management effort. Trail users are invited to traverse the main post portion of VMI during this period to avoid the closed areas. The Chessie Trail will remain open throughout this period.
