486 Boxes: Care Box Project Seeks Additional Donations
|
| Local Care Box Project organizers and supporters are working hard to fill a whopping 486 boxes of goodies for soldiers serving in Afghanistan.
"We need your help in filling them," a recently issued email suggested.
Items that soldiers have asked for includes:
• candy and gum
• non-perishable snacks like cookies, crackers, granola bars, sunflower seeds, beef jerky, Little Debbie Snacks, etc.
• travel size tissue pack
• sunscreen
• soap bars
• soft cover puzzle books, crosswords, Sudoku, etc.
• paperback books and magazines
"Any donation you can make can make a difference," an organizer told the Rockbridge Weekly.
The location of area drop boxes includes the W&L Fitness Center Entrance, Waddell Elementary School and Buddy's True Value Hardware Store.
There's still time to make donations as the boxes will be picked up on Friday morning, November 20, 2009. | | | | | |
