$500 Grant Awarded to Prevention Coalition
|
| The Rockbridge Area Prevention Coalition (RAPC) will buy needed educational and recreational equipment and supplies to support the Project X after school program at RCHS with the help of a recent grant of $500.00 from the Rockbridge Area Community Foundation.
“Project X is an after school program that was launched last year as an alternative fun place for kids to come and hang out after school, especially when they're waiting for the doors to open on game nights," said RAPC Facilitator LauraJane Wilson.
According to Wilson, RAPC will use the grant to purchase games, musical instruments like electronic drums and Guitar Hero, and other educational materials for the students to use during the Friday afternoon program. Wilson said, “We are so excited to have received this grant from the Community Foundation. Project X has just started up again for this school year, so the timing of these much needed funds was perfect!"
