Rockbridge Area Community Foundation Holds Annual Reception

| The Rockbridge Area Community Foundation held its annual reception in Kendal Hall at Kendal at Lexington on November 12th.
Bob Glidden, vice chair of the Foundation, was the master of ceremonies for a very informative program which explained the mission of the Foundation and how it assists not-for-profit organizations and individuals in fulfilling their philanthropic goals.
A video highlighting the work of the Foundation in our area concluded the program. During the reception grants were given out to 11 not-for-profit organizations. Receiving grants were: Hoofbeats, Yellow Brick Road, Boxerwood Gardens, Millboro Rescue Squad, Paxton House, Community Service Board, Hospice, RAOC, RATS, SPCA and Rockbridge Regional Library.
The Foundation expressed its thanks to Kendal, BB&T and University Florist for helping sponsor the event.
The Foundation’s mission is to facilitate donors’ gifts in perpetuity to organizations working to meet the needs of the community. Gifts are not restricted to one area of interest, but include any worthy cause from health and human services needs to the arts.
