One Simple Word Determines America’s Future
By Jerry E. Clark

It doesn’t take an intellectual to understand the simple fact that just one word actually controls the fate of this great country. Until the majority of people in this country take the time to understand what actually fuels the prosperity of our society, we’ll remain in a quagmire, arguing over increasingly smaller bits of the pie. That’s exactly what has been going on since left-leaning politicians have taken control of the Congress and the executive branch of government. It’s got economic disaster written all over it.

Here’s that all-important word: jobs. Real jobs. Not government dreamt up or government created jobs, but real ones. Real jobs are those which are created by private companies which provide money and benefits to millions of households, security for American families, spendable income that has a vast effect on all of American society.

But there is a total disconnect in place these days in our nation’s capital with respect to how jobs are created, fostered and expanded. To have the current president announce that he plans a “summit” on job creation soon is to hear the voice of somebody claiming to be concerned about this issue, but is the same person who has promoted policy after policy that has the exact opposite effect. Call this what you will, but we call it ridiculous. No, outrageous is a better term.

We make the flat, honest statement that the Obama administration’s economic policy is so utterly misguided that a “jobs summit” isn’t what is needed, but an open, national debate on the whole issue of how capital is created, how jobs are created and how the economic system actually works. This is necessary, because those now in power are showing an incredible disrespect for the basics of our whole system.

They’re not just out of touch, they’re undermining a system which is desperately in need of nothing short of the exact opposite set of policies it is facing.

Imagine the incredible gall of the Congress (with the full support of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi) giving itself a raise when the rest of America was reeling from million of job losses. Pelosi put on that cynical face of hers before the nation’s cameras, while millions of Americans pay the tab for Congressional incompetence of the highest order - all under her guidance and approval.

The long list of policies that comprise a year of economic outrages proposed by the current group in power is so fundamentally misguided, so fundamentally wrong and counterproductive as to boggle the imagination.

History will record these past three years as the “dark ages” for 21st century America. It’s time to demand real change - not socialistic change - but change that will assure the average American that the majority in Congress understands both Econ. 101 and 102. For now, there’s zero evidence of this.
