RACF Awards Grant To Rockbridge Area Hospice

Rockbridge Area Hospice is pleased to announce that they are the recipient of a $200.00 grant from the Rockbridge Area Community Foundation.

The grant will be applied to the RAH Good Neighbor Fund, a fund started in 2008, with the sole purpose of raising funds to cover the cost of care for indigent and uninsured patients.

“Unlike other hospice programs, Rockbridge Area Hospice accepts all patients regardless of their ability to pay. Increasingly, Hospice offers its services to the poor and uninsured. Through the generous donations of RACF and other supporters in community, our Good Neighbor Fund has covered hospice care for six patients in 2009. Our commitment to the community continues – we will be there for you and your families when you need caring, compassionate end-of-life and bereavement services, regardless of your ability to pay for those services,” explains Executive Director Judy Ramsey.

RAH’s annual fundraising activities, the Fore Care Golf Classic in the spring, the Annual Fund Campaign in the summer, and the Hospice Hustle in the fall, provide financial support for services not covered or only partially covered by self-pay, private insurance, and Medicare or Medicaid.

In its 25th year, Rockbridge Area Hospice continues to be the first choice in end-of-life care and bereavement services for families in Buena Vista, Lexington, Rockbridge County and surrounding communities.
