AARP Meeting Set December 5   Mrs.C’s Pickers, from the Maury River Senior Center in Buena Vista will be the guest entertainers for the Saturday, December 5, noon meeting at G Willakers of the Glasgow/Rockbridge AARP chapter 2071. They will be giving a musical program of Christmas music. There will also be other special Christmas entertainment on the program. The chapter board members who will be giving reports are legislative chairman, Maynard Reynolds and Nancy Mason, health chairwoman who will talk about ‘Woman Today’ and if your health is being treated right. Harriet Fix, community service chairwoman will report on the trip to Havenwood Nursing Home on Tuesday, December 8 at 2 pm where refreshments and entertainment will be provided. A trip to Washington, DC to see the White House decorated for Christmas has been arranged with the help of Maynard Reynolds and Rep. Bob Goodlatte for Wednesday, December 9. Trip chairwoman, Jane Shafer would like all those going to know that the cost is $39.00 and will be collected at this meeting. The bus will pick up passengers at the pink Cadillac at 4 am and at Walmart at 4:15 am. More information will be given at the regular meeting Saturday. Reservations are required for the lunch and non-members should call Kitty Clemmer at 463-4797 if they plan to attend.
