LDMS Students To Participate In National Geographic Bee By Patte Wood Staff Reporter   Lylburn Downing Middle School students will be participating in this year's National Geographic Bee. The National Geographic Society holds the National Geographic Bee for students in fourth through eighth grades in thousands of schools across the United States and in the five U.S. territories, as well as in Department of Defense Dependents Schools around the world. This year LDMS will conduct class Bees in the sixth, seventh and eighth grade. The winners will compete in a competition on Thursday, December 17, 2009 beginning at 5:30 p.m. in the gym prior to the winter concert. The winner of the LDMS bee will advance to the next level of competition, which is a written examination to determine the state finalists.
