Judson Howard to Teach “Introduction to Wine-Making”

Wine-Making Course Scheduled at DSLCC

“Introduction to Wine-Making” is a new course offered this spring through the Dabney S. Lancaster Community College non-credit program. Taught by Judson Howard of Covington, the course is scheduled on Mondays, February 1 – 22, from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m., in Room 388, Scott Hall, on the main campus in Clifton Forge.

Howard has been making home-made wine for the past 35 years and his entries have taken 1st, 2nd, 3rd and “Best In Show” at the West Virginia State Fair for the past two years. Participants in the course will learn not only how to make wine at home with a variety of fruits, berries, concentrate and a wine kit, but also about equipment and supplies, fermentation, bottling and storage. Tuition is $60.

To register, contact the DSLCC Non-Credit Coordinator Judy Clark at (540) 863-2863 or jclark@dslcc.edu. Due to the nature of the product being studied, participants must be at least 21 years of age to register.
