Botetourt Sheriff Seeking Masked Trio In Sunday Night Home Invasion
|
| Botetourt County Sheriff Ronnie Sprinkle has announced that his officers are pursuing possible leads to the identities of three armed and masked intruders who kicked in the door of a Daleville home shortly after midnight Sunday (Dec. 27, 2009) night and terrorized and robbed the elderly couple who resided there.
Sheriff Sprinkle identified the victims as Delories Virginia Noell, 79, and Joe Evans Noell, 81, who reside on Glebe Hill Road. The Noells were not physically harmed, he said.
Mrs. Noell was forced at gunpoint to endeavor to open a home safe, but was too nervous to successfully comply with the demand, the sheriff said. The intruders bound the two residents, searched Mrs. Noell’s purse, and then fled, taking the safe and cash from the purse with them, Sprinkle said.
The three robbers were described as presumably male, wearing dark clothes, ski masks, and gloves.
