| On February 18, 2010, Naaman Mehta and Schafer Wymond spoke to the Lexington Sunrise Rotary Club about the activities of the Interact Club at Rockbridge County High School, which is sponsored by both the Lexington Sunrise Rotary Club and the Lexington Rotary Club.
Both students recently represented their Club at a Rotary Youth Leadership Seminar held at Virginia Tech, including the planning and development of hypothetical legislative models and making funding decisions for competing societal interests, thereby learning how to work with others to reach such decisions.
Also, they reported that the RCHS Interact Club raised over $2,000 within two days after the earthquake in Haiti for relief efforts there.
The club regularly sponsors several service projects throughout the year, including local and international projects.
There are over 200,000 students in Interact Clubs throughout the world sponsored by Rotary International Clubs.
Ms. Emily Higgins at Rockbridge County High School is the school advisor for the RCHS Interact Club. | | | | | |
